The Ghost of Rush Limbaugh on Megan Barry’s Congressional Bid

Folks, buckle up, because we’re venturing into the political twilight zone. Megan Barry, yes, that Megan Barry, the former mayor of Nashville who had a fling on the taxpayer’s dime, has thrown her hat into the ring for Congress. And the Democrats are apparently thrilled. Are we living in some alternate universe, or did I accidentally take a wrong turn?

Now, I get it; people make mistakes. But last time I checked, Barry wasn’t baking cookies for charity. She was dipping into the public purse for her personal extracurricular activities. Girl Boss? More like Taxpayer’s Loss.

She committed a felony! Does she think people are suffering from collective amnesia? We know what happened. And let’s not forget the women she left in the dust to pursue her illicit affairs. Talk about a champion of women’s rights.

And now, she’s running against Republican Mark Green. My advice to Green: don’t even bother Googling “Megan Barry gossip” unless you want a migraine. It’s a treasure trove of negatives that would make your head spin.

Barry may be lovely person, and I get it, loyalty runs deep. But running for Congress? That’s like voluntarily jumping into a pit of political piranhas. And, oh boy, the Daily Wire is based in Nashville now! A female Democrat with a closet full of skeletons? That’s a field day!

Barry is a Democrat with a penchant for misappropriating funds and an unconventional love life? It’s like Christmas for conservative media.

Pundits cheering on Barry might just be applauding self-harm under the guise of self-actualization. The ferocity of media chewing her up and spitting her out will be something to witness. And, dare I say it, she’s handing them the ammo.

Are voters really going to vote for someone who pleaded guilty to stealing taxpayer money? Not a chance. The last time she was in office, she abused her power, and I’m not in the business of rewarding that kind of behavior.

Democrats lining up to vote for her might want to reconsider. Either following the law matters, or it doesn’t. You can’t scream about Republican misdeeds and then turn around and say, “But overlook all those traits in our wonderful friend, Megan Barry.”

Nashville, you know who she is and what she did with your hard-earned money. Voting for her again is like playing Russian roulette. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Nashville, don’t be the fool.
